Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 9, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Zloth (the "Service"), including the Chrome extension, website, and related APIs. By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Acceptance and Eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. In jurisdictions outside the EU where a lower minimum age applies, you must meet that minimum. If you are between 13 and 15 years old, you may only use the Service with the express consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Service Description
- Purpose: Provide AI-generated summaries for YouTube videos, with organization (folders), credits, and optional premium features.
- Accounts: Sign in with Google (via Supabase). See our Privacy Policy for data handling details.
- Credits: Requests consume credits (1 credit = 1 minute of video, rounded up).
Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Acceptable Use
- Comply with all applicable laws, YouTube Terms of Service, and platform policies.
- Do not abuse, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt to bypass limits or security.
- Do not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
- Do not use automation or scraping in a way that harms the Service or violates third-party terms.
Subscription, Payments, and Credits
- Billing: Premium subscriptions and credit packs are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.
- Renewal & Cancellation: Manage your plan in the Stripe Billing Portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Credits: Free and premium credits reset monthly; purchased credits may have distinct expiry. Balances are visible in the extension.
- No transfer: Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
- Refunds: You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase. When a refund is processed, remaining unused credits are removed. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period begins on the date the contract is concluded.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us by a clear statement (e.g., by email) before the withdrawal period expires:
- Alexander Specht, Teutoburger Str. 31, 50678 Köln, Germany
- Email: support@zlothai.com
If you withdraw, we will reimburse all payments received from you using the same payment method you used, without undue delay.
Premature expiry of the right of withdrawal: For digital services and content that are provided immediately upon purchase, you expressly agree — at the time of checkout — that performance of the contract begins before the withdrawal period expires. By confirming your purchase and requesting immediate access, you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed or, for subscriptions, once access has been granted and service delivery has commenced.
Your Content and Output
- You own your content and the summaries generated from your requests.
- You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content and summaries solely to provide and improve the Service.
- Summaries are generated by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Verify important information independently.
Intellectual Property
- We own the Service and related IP (including software, branding, and design), and we reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
- YouTube and Google are trademarks of their respective owners. We are not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
Third-Party Services
- The Service relies on third-party services (e.g., YouTube, Google, Supabase, Stripe) that have their own terms and policies.
- We are not responsible for third-party services, their content, or their availability.
Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Availability and Changes
- The Service may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
- We may impose limits (e.g., rate limits, credits) to ensure stability and fair use.
Disclaimers
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation.
Limitation of Liability
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 3 months before the claim arose.
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g., for fraud, gross negligence, or statutory consumer rights).
Indemnification
- You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or users.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Certain provisions (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations) survive termination.
Changes to Terms
- We may update these Terms. We will update the effective date and may provide additional notice for material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
- If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from any mandatory protections provided by the law of your country of residence.
- Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Cologne, Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise.
Online Dispute Resolution
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (OS) for consumers: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. We are not obligated to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, but we are willing to do so in individual cases.
